As promised here is a much better look at Vikkie! Shame I can't drive her yet (not registered or insured.) Tomorrow will be a day full of driving! Enjoy!
Thanks for viewing! I am still way too excited! First purchase? Tires! They are beyond bald!

Looks nice! What's up with the old S70 wheels?

When he got the white bumper, he also took those wheels because they still have great tread on them. They will fit, so now I have three spares (those two and the actual one that came with the car).

Haha, I'd say winter wheels but you're still missing a couple of them.
And Florida.

Nice! That interior looks in great shape – mine's terribly worn out.
Love the Pegasus wheels and R floor mats, too. They're both gone on mine (Minnesota's horrific potholes must have been murder on the fragile wheels, and somebody swapped the floor mats out for ugly but practical rubber ones).
Also, I've never heard one, but the SC-901 sound system is supposed to be epic. I kind of want to find one and try to retrofit it to my 850R. Unfortunately, older Volvo stereos don't like CD-Rs and lack an AUX input, but tape adaptors work well, and if you're handy with electronics, it's easy to hard-wire one in.

needs more spoiler!
(#14) Worth the $400 plus install and paint

Side impact airbags on this vintage?

Im quite thrilled here. And when on KBB, its worth about $4500.
Also. I was shocked to see the original mats. They fetch a pretty penny!
The rims are the best part though. And because its a 2000 they are only 16" so the tires won't cost me all too much.
And the sound system!!! Oh my word its amazing. Everything is crystal clear!
Have any pics of your 850? I'd love to see her

I might go part searching and find a whole new door. The wiper motor on this one is sadly dead so...
And if it has the wing big bonus!

Yeah! Revolutionary at the time

Go to firestone and get the cheapest prime wells. I got those on my 850 turbo's 16 inch wheels for about $220 installed, they handle great, especially in mud.

Yeah, I got mine for a crazy-good price, too, but it wasn't running at the time. The rubber mats make sense here in MN, where your boots are covered in salty, icy slush for half the year, but ye gods, they're ugly. I'd love to find a set of proper fitted carpet mats, R or not, for summer, but I haven't had any luck finding non-trashed ones so far.
Mine has 17" Tethys wheels from a C70 (or so I'm told). I love how they look, but I'm slightly dreading having to purchase tires for them, and the low-profile tires only make the ride even harder than it already is. Thankfully, the tires on it are nearly new, but with all that torque going to the front wheels, I doubt that they'll stay that way for long. It's also got V70 tail lights, since the originals were cracked and faded and looked horrible.
I'm ridiculously pleased with mine. Sure, it needed a bit of work to get it going, but it's a decently-quick, comfortable, practical car, and it suits me down to the ground. I just haven't managed to find a suitable name for it yet. I'm sure that you'll have loads of fun with Vikkie, and I hope that she'll serve you well in return.
Here are some potatocam shots of mine. It's far from perfect, but it's mine, and that counts for a lot.

Good - you can never have too many airbags.

Looks Awesome!! Are you gonna replace the front bumper with a correct one?
![]() 09/24/2014 at 19:32 |

Like Denver asked, are you going to get a grey bumper? Also, how is the Auto?

That it so AWESOME!
Love the little R touches everywhere!!

There is actually one thing!
Three of my four center caps for my rims are missing!!!!

I'm going to try hard and find a correct one. But for now Im going to try some plastidip! What do I have to lose?
![]() 09/24/2014 at 20:33 |

I'm going to try and look for one but for now I think I'm going to use some plastidip. Whats the worst that can happen?

I really really love the red though! And those rims look sharp, but I see what you mean about them having really low sidewall. I'm so lucky that mine is a normal tire size! I can get cheap offbrand for like $65 a tire or get good Michelins for like $100 each.
This car just suits me so well. I look right driving it!

the newer ones fit perfect.

Thats actually awesome! I can stop by the dealer and pick up a set!
Or.. steal em from Dads 2012!

Yeeees! He'll have no clue who did it..... oh wait lol!

Couldn't agree more. The tailgate spoiler completely transforms the look of the car from a normal, utilitarian workhorse to a proper sports wagon. I think they should have been standard on all cars.
Though you can definitely find ones in good condition on the ebays for much less than 400 bucks, and from what I've heard the installation is very straightforward.

You sure those wheels are 16"? I thought the Pegasus where only available as 17s (and 18s on later models).
If you're looking for 16" tyres, I recently got a full set of four 205/55 R16 Dunlop Sport Blueresponse for my '94 850 Turbo and I couldn't be happier. They are extremely silent, ride well and have grip for days, specially in the wet. Not sure if you have them available in your area but I'd definitely give them a look.
Have only heard bad things about Michelins of this size.

Those are actually the EXACT ones I just ordered yesterday off of Tire Rack! The reviews seemed really high so I hope to have them on early next week!
Glad to hear that they are nice!
Thats my size btw 205/55/R16

You did a great purchase, then :)
Granted the old tyres on mine were a cheapo brand and so completely bald I was spinning the tyres on third gear and had more than one scary moment in the rain, even at low speeds. So obviously the new tyres are going to feel perfect by comparison. Still, many friends own these Dunlops and have never looked back, so it seems like a very good bet at that price range.

yeah, either the R spoiler or at least some sort of trim
